Overview
Speakers from AI Safety Zambia helping participants understand that AI safety is relevant to every industry, device, and system that uses AI
Event Overview:
This Pie & AI Lusaka event is hosted by the DeepLearning.AI Zambia Ambassador and features two speakers from AI Safety Zambia (aisafetyzambia.com), bringing together beginners and intermediate learners to explore AI safety as a broad and practical discipline that affects everyone not just engineers or security professionals. AI safety is not a niche topic. It applies to any industry, product, device, or system that uses AI in any way from the phone in your pocket to healthcare tools, financial systems, agricultural technology, media platforms, and public services. Anywhere AI is present, questions of safety, reliability, and responsible use follow. The event will walk through real examples of where AI systems have failed or caused harm across different industries and contexts, and connect those failures to the broader frameworks and conversations happening globally in AI safety. Participants will leave with a clearer picture of what AI safety actually is, why it matters in their daily lives and work, and how they can position themselves within this growing field
Pie & AI is a series of DeepLearning.AI meetups independently hosted by community groups.
